Kenny Cook - Local Characters
Kenny has been a mate for more years than we care to remember, we went through school together & he has always been a keen athlete, he first entered the the Alva Games youths 1600m in 1980 and won, then 1981 and 1982 he won the youths hill race.
In 1983 Kenny entered in the British Championship hill race Which is a grueling 385m climb over 2.6km from the Johnstone park to the top of Tory hill, he finished 4th then 3rd in 1984, 2nd in 1985 and won in 1986, there is a brass plaque built into the hilltop by the royal marines to commemorate his victory.
