Stirling old bridge 01

Stirling Old Bridge was built around 1500 and was the lowest bridging point over the River Forth Scotland for almost four centuries, it is steeped in history including the Jacobite rebellion in 1745 but it is not to be mistaken for the narrow wooden bridge that spanned the river Forth. This was where the Battle of Stirling Bridge took place when the army of William Wallace defeated the English troops as they attempted to cross.
